Augusto Chiericati is a lean management consultant with experience in manufacturing, service and office environments ranging from family-owned businesses to multi-national organizations. He strongly believes that people development is the key to sustaining change.
Augusto has extensive experience driving lean transformation and has implemented total productive maintenance (TPM), set up reduction, standard work, training within industry (TWI), line balancing and problem solving.
Prior to working as a consultant, Augusto worked in medium-sized manufacturing companies including La Trivenenta Cavi in Northern Italy where he was a lean change agent and a continuous improvement manager. He implemented flow and improved equipment uptime resulting in a 25%+ increase in performance. He also created a central spare parts warehouse for earthmoving machines, cranes and platforms for an Italian rental company.
Augusto has consulted with multinational companies including: DHL, Fiberweb, Trelleborg, Baxter and Hope Industries as well as some smaller, local Italian manufacturing firms where he improved productivity, quality and delivery, and was heavily involved in coaching senior leadership teams and middle managers to create a basis for sustainable improvements.
Most recently, Augusto worked with an Italian electric motors producer to transform its manufacturing system from a craftsman-focused shop floor to a more streamlined industrial workplace. To reach this goal, he implemented lean methodologies, instilled a lean culture and introduced problem solving tools. He has also worked in France, Netherlands and Mexico.
Augusto has a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Padua and is a certified Lean Management Master by Fondazione CUOA—an Italian Business School that serves as the local branch of Lean Enterprise Institute (LEI). His native languages are Italian and Portuguese and he is fluent in English. Augusto has basic working knowledge of French and Spanish.
